Vanderbilt University is “an academically rigorous and vibrant school” where professors bring “diverse work experiences outside of Vanderbilt” into the classroom while remaining deeply invested in student success. One student explains that professors “will reach out personally to help students, hold extra office hours, and meet with students for things unrelated to class, such as interview prep or career advising.” That accessibility extends into the curriculum itself: “you can take courses in a variety of subject areas, even if they are not within your major or minor requirements.” One student notes getting to “frequently create scientific models, converse in foreign languages, and debate during classes.” Another student shares, “As a first-year engineering student, I took three six-week engineering modules in three different engineering disciplines. For my first module, I got to build a ukulele from scratch using CAD programs, 3D printing, and laser cutting. It was amazing to be able to use so many tools that I did not believe I would have access to until I was an upperclassman.” Students love that Vanderbilt provides “the resources and support they need to succeed, including access to world-class libraries, technology, and career services.”
